The month of July is all about traveling, picnics, fairs, festivals, hiking, and the like. There are some many things to see and do in July in Pa Dutch Country. Okay first things first. Let’s start out with First Fridays. There are several places where you can enjoy The First Friday of the month. Here are a few: Lancaster - Come to downtown Lancaster and celebrate the Arts with us! There are 70+ vendors. Live music, theatrical performances, unique boutiques, galleries and so much more. The hours are 5-9 pm every first Friday of the month.

York - The first Friday of every month is held in downtown York in the first block of N. Beaver Street between Philadelphia and Market St.. They close off the entire block to traffic. There are games, entertainment, prizes, vendors, and much more. Also the event is not limited to that block most of the other businesses located throughout downtown York have specials, extended hours, live entertainment and more just for this event. The event is held the first Friday of every month from 4-9 pm.

Greencastle- located in Franklin County PA. Downtown Greencastle shops will each feature a local artist inside or outside their shop. The hours are from 5-8pm the first Friday of each month.

Jacobus - Jacobus is Located in York County PA Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 3, 2010 Rain Date: Monday, July 5, 2010 The fireworks will be held at Jacobus Community Park, South Main Street, Jacobus PA. The Annual Fourth of July "BLAST" event isheld Independence Day weekend with children's parade, pageants, commercial and community displays, contests, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, book sale, face painting, dunk tank, silent auction, raffle, games, battle of the bands, entertainment, fireworks and more.

Other Events and Attractions
Hanover Dutch Festival - is located in Hanover, PA York County. The festival will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 (27th annual) - 8AM to 4PM (Rain or shine.) The festival is located at Center Square, Carlisle Street, Hanover PA 17331
Annual Hanover Dutch will have more than 300 vendors. There will be art and crafts vendors, food, children's activities, live German entertainment, antique and classic car show, and more.

The Susquehanna Art Museum - They are located in Harrisburg, PA Dauphin County They are featuring Down the Rabbit Hole: The Bizarre Worlds of Salvador Dali exhibit from now until Aug 1, 2010. The admission is $5person, Senior/Student (with ID) $3, and Members and Children 12 and under are FREE.

Want to think cooler? How bout Christmas in July? The National Christmas Center will have their Midsummer Yule Festival on July 10, 2010. The festival will be outside and the admission is free. The hours are 9am - 5pm.

Recipes
Lebanon County Peach Cake
Ingredients
1/4 c Shortening 1 Egg
2 tb Sugar
2 c Flour
3 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt
1 c Milk
*topping:
Sugar
1/4 ts Cinnamon
Peaches, fresh
Preparation
Sift and mix together the dry ingredients (except the topping ingredients); cut in the shortening and add the egg and milk which have been mixed together. Mix thoroughly. Pour into a well-greased oblong pan and cover with peeled peach halves. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and bake at 350-F about 35 minutes.
