The Family Cupboard Restaurant & Buffet

*The Family Cupboard Restaurant and Buffet is permanently closed*

Chase, my mom, and I stopped at The Family Cupboard after we went to Charles Demuth's house which is now the
Demuth Museum
.
We actually had just stopped at another restaurant, and found out when we got there that between lunch and dinner they stopped their smorgasbord for awhile. So, that was when we decide to head up to Bird-In-Hand and stop at the Family Cupboard.
As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted promptly. We were then seated, and they gave us menus to look over. We looked over the menu which had a variety of different food entrees. We then went over and looked at the buffet. My mom and I decided that we wanted to have the lunch buffet. Chase on the other hand wanted his burgers so he chose to order off the menu.
We were actually pleasantly surprised, the buffet was very cheap at around nine dollars per person, and it was good too. I had fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, corn, rotisserie chicken, beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, New England clam chowder, and for dessert I had Shoofly pie and ice cream.
My mom had meatloaf, beef and gravy, chicken corn soup, broccoli, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, and carrot cake (which she loved) and ice cream.
Chase had a cheeseburger, french fries, and apple pie. He really enjoyed his food,in fact, he said that we need to remember this place because he wants to come back again.
Everything was fresh and homemade. Most of the food is traditional Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. The food is prepared by local Amish and Mennonite cooks.
Also while your there be sure to check out the gift shop upstairs.
The restaurant is located at 3029 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bird-In-Hand, PA 17505. The Phone is (717) 768-4510

We had a wonderful waitress and it was a great time of eating! We will surely be back there again.
